Don't cause trouble. Be nice and respectful to everyone, Admins included. No bullying, racism, unnecessary arguments or drama, discrimination, discussion about politics, harassment or any related inappropriate behavior. No drama llamas here, just fluffy llamas. If you're experiencing negative thoughts and need a little comfort, you can use our vent channel. However, if you're having thoughts of suicide or other serious mental health issues, please seek out the help of a licensed professional.
No talking about sub counts in the server outside of #celebration! The reason for this is that these kinds of discussions have led to an overwhelmingly negative environment in the past within the server, and make creators feel like they're in a competition with one another. No matter what your sub count is you're accepted here, and everyone is treated as an equal. We absolutely would not be making this a rule if the scope of damage these conversations caused in the past hadn't merited it, since we do not like to prevent free speech in any way.
Be a comic artist or a writer. You must have at least two chapters available online at the time of joining. If you are in the middle of rebooting (or starting a new series) this is fine as long as you still participate in the server and community.
Be 18 or older. The Collab Carnival server has an 18+ section in it, and while it is an optional role that can be chosen by each member individually, it is still preferred that every member be 18 or older at the time of applying.
Participate in and support the community. We are not a drop-and-run type of server. Our collective wants to nurture a positive and active network of artists! In order to stay, you must participate in at least 3 events or collabs per year, as well as be generally active in channels. More information can be found pinned in the #tally-bot channel. Inactive users will be kicked.
Post in the relevant channel. Each channel contains a description and/or a pinned message to guide you. Please make use of all of them, they're here for a reason! A NSFW area is also accessible with a special role, as we keep any and all mature content behind a wall. Feel free to gain access to it by visiting roles.
If you see something iffy (or have a question) please let an Admin know. You can tag us, or direct message any of us. Members who violate any of the rules may be: warned, forbidden from hosting or participating in certain collabs, temporarily muted, kicked, banned. As we know, rules are sadly never perfect, so Admins will always have the last say.
But wait, there's more! We take collabs seriously around here, so we sprinkled them with a few more guidelines...They ought to run smoothly!
Collabing includes: submitting for a themed collab, having a cameo in your comic, banner-swapping with someone, entering another member's contest or DTIYS, or making fanart for another creator or for the mascots. Themed collabs are colour-coded: Ongoing collabs that can be joined are marked in green. Full collabs awaiting entries are marked in orange. Fulfilled collabs are marked in red. Can't find what you're looking for? You can suggest new collab ideas in our #collabs-proposals channel.
Follow the collab host's rules. Please submit all requested content on time. If you'd like to drop out, do so before the drop-out deadline and as soon as possible. Admins reserve the right to step in and act whenever necessary. To keep track of your collab(s) and be @ whenever the host makes an update, please grab your role(s) in each themed channel.
Spread the love! We're here to boost and support one another, remember? Depending on the type of collab, you may have to post it online on the platform of your choice. Please leave it up for at least 6 months!
Want to take it a step further? A word about hosting. Hosting means you're in charge of your collab, so make sure you have rules and requirements ready for people wanting to join it! If the collab is NSFW, it must be clearly stated in your introduction message as well. The maximum allowed submission period for collabs is 3 months from the time of opening. If you want to host a collab that's further into the year then it'll have to be proposed at a later date. If the server's schedule is too busy at the time, you might be asked to postpone it. You will be expected to find a backup host within the server in case something comes up that makes you unable to finish the collab. Last but not least follow the rules of your own collab!
